The Smart Way to Comfort and Energy Savings!

ree

Modern heat pumps are a smart, reliable, and clean solution for heating and cooling your home or office, as they are 3 to 5 times more energy efficient than traditional gas boilers. Despite their growing popularity, many myths continue to cause confusion.

Here are 5 key things you need to know:

  1. Excellent Performance in All Climates: Heat pumps operate efficiently even in cold climates (e.g., Northern Europe), extracting heat from the outside air (which contains thermal energy) and transferring it indoors. At the same time, they are an excellent source of cooling in warm climates (such as Southern Europe).

  1. Significant Money Savings: Due to their high energy efficiency, they can reduce heating bills by an average of 20% to over 60% in the EU, especially in areas where electricity is not disproportionately expensive compared to natural gas. Although the initial installation cost is higher, operation is cheaper in the long term, and public subsidies and financing models are available.

  1. Extensive Renovations Are Not Always Necessary: Although improving insulation helps, most homes can benefit from a heat pump without major renovations. Specifically, hydronic heat pumps work most efficiently when they don't have to produce very hot water. Older homes can be heated efficiently as long as the radiators are large enough or minor insulation improvements have been made.

  1. Support from the electricity grid: Although the number of heat pumps in Europe is expected to increase to 52 million by 2030, the electricity demand they will generate is estimated to be only about 5% of total annual demand. In addition, manufacturers are committed to marketing "energy-smart" models to reduce demand during peak hours, while work is underway to modernize the grid.

  1. Quiet Operation: Modern units are designed to operate quietly. The noise level of the outdoor unit ranges between 40-65 decibels (equivalent to a quiet conversation), while the indoor noise is much lower.
