Northern Suburbs
The Regional Unit of the Northern Sector of Athens is a cluster of twelve municipalities that extend to the northeastern part of the Attica Basin, which is surrounded by Parnitha, Penteliko, Ymittos and Tourkovounia.
The green side of Attica that spreads out at the foot of Parnitha and Penteli. The further you head towards the northern suburbs, the more greenery you will encounter, but also imposing mountain masses that rise up in the urban landscape, providing coolness even in the summer months. The northern side of Attica, almost untouched, continues to be green, despite human intervention, being at the same time a "lung" of oxygen, outside the bustling Athens and the most densely populated areas of the capital. In Northern Attica or the so-called Northern Suburbs, you will find imposing mansions in the gardens of which the modern secular, social and political history of the place has been written. Kifissia, Maroussi, Vrilissia, Melissia, Psychiko and just a few kilometers north of the center Filothei and Ekali are some of the green areas of the Northern Suburbs. There unfold large parks and squares, attractions, important educational institutions, impressive residences that reflect the architectural journey through time and a large number of embassies. Kifissia is the undisputed commercial center of the northern suburbs, where all the bright signatures of branded shopping, culinary surprises and endless night entertainment gather. Around Kifissia you will enjoy your walks in the suburbs of Nea Erythraia, Ekali, Penteli, Agia Paraskevi, Chalandrio and Amarousi.
